No leaks, no PMS— Prevent Period Panic, and Stay Ready.

The Leo in me could never experience my period without proactively planning—especially now that I cycle sync. Planning for my period has positively impacted all aspects of my life, including my skin, and I want to invite you to do the same.

As a menstruating woman, planning for your period can help you build a healthy line of communication and trust with your body and uterus. One way I support my cyclical cues is by preparing a “period pack” or kit—whatever you’d like to call it, girl.

In my pack, I include my favorite snacks, like seaweed and dark chocolate, which are excellent sources of iron and magnesium. I also pack my feminine hygiene essentials, such as Honey Pot herbal pads and wipes. Speaking of wipes, my mom always told me to keep a bottle of water handy when I was younger so I could freshen up throughout the day. Now, I take it a step further by using a bidet—after intimacy, during my period, or whenever I need to feel refreshed. It’s so convenient!

I’ve also found the cutest feminine hygiene baggies for discreetly disposing of used products. They’re practical, hygienic, and great to have on hand.

What are some items you think would be helpful to prepare before your bleeding phase begins?

Everyone has unique menstrual needs, but staying prepared not only benefits you—it could also save the day for a friend who unexpectedly needs a tampon while you’re out on the town.

As an esthetician and skin cyclist, I’ve identified that during my luteal and bleeding phases, my skin tends to become severely dry, my barrier gets compromised, and I occasionally experience jawline acne. To address this, I always include spearmint in my period pack, as it helps regulate hormonal acne.

Essentially, this pack contains everything a woman needs to make her cycle more manageable. I challenge—and invite—you to create your own period pack. Start putting it together about seven days before your next cycle begins (at the end of your luteal phase).

If you’re not sure what to include, check out the list I’ve curated on my Amazon storefront here!
